Guided Walks

A guided walk can you leave free to really enjoy a day in the hills, without the pressure of route planning and map reading; also, a leader will be able to open-up new areas for you and share their local knowledge, bringing the landscape to life for you and your group – where do you want to go?

On the whole I only provide bespoke walks, as I feel it’s important to talk with groups prior to heading out for a mountain walk, to understand what experience is being sort and adapt plans to suite the group. That said, we all need a little inspiration sometimes, so below you’ll find some ideas to get you warmed up…

Hope Valley & the Great Ridge – this iconic string of hill-tops, which includes the famous Mam Tor, gives expansive views of the Hope and Edale valleys, weather permitting of course, and can be weaved into a number of different routes, to accommodate needs or to visit the sights of Castleton as a contrast.

Eastern Edges of the Peak District – only a short drive from Sheffield, the Gritstone edge of the eastern rim of the national park are a mecca for hill-walkers (and climbers). There are options for long and short days, with atmosphere and views, industrial archeology, myth and geology to explore.

Plan Crash Pilgrimage – up on Bleaklow lie the remnants of the B29 Superfortress ‘Over Exposed’, a USAF reconnaissance plane and a poignant reminder of the tragic loss of a young aircrew. It’s become almost too popular a destination, with the Instagram fame it developed but it’s still possible to make a quiet and respectful visit, if you choose the right time of day and season…

Walking Kinder – as the spiritual heart of the Peak District, Kinder Scout isn’t just the Park’s highest point, it’s also a national symbol, an emblem of our desire to roam the moors and mountains. It’s in the shadow of this plateau that a strong-willed group of young men and women famously staged a mass trespass in April 1932 to express this. Let’s follow in their footsteps!

Challenge Walks

A corporate team at Win Hill as they took on their own challenge walk, the Edale Skyline, in aid of Dementia UK and educational charity Memusi.

If you’re looking to take on something more challenging, as a charity fundraiser, for personal development or a team building exercise, I can help you plan and then deliver a rewarding and unique hiking challenge.
